Tell Why They Support Sandy

Dean Flugstad

2008 Campaign Chair

“I strongly support Sandy because I trust her to work diligently on legislation that will help continue a high standard of living for all of our children and grand children.

I have witnessed first hand her energy, commitment and high level of integrity. I hope you too

will support her! Thank you.”

Dean Flugstad, Lake City

with Grand Children.

Cecelia Dodge and Mike Martini

Cannon Falls Co-Chairs

Cecelia Dodge, a lifelong Democrat, is proud to volunteer her time to help get Sandy elected.  Born to progressive, activist parents, she has politics in her blood.  Cecelia has been a special education teacher in MN schools and supervisor of special education policy at the MN Department of Education, where she worked on special education funding and laws and policies to reform education programs for children and youth who are placed for care, treatment and corrections.  Her work in this area has been recognized by the MN Association for Children’s Mental Health (MACMH) and Lt. Gov. Mae Schunk.

Michael Martini has been an active volunteer in politics in Goodhue County for more than
20 years, fighting for causes that are important to our communities, such as the environment and human rights.  Mike has also been an active volunteer in his children’s schools and in his church where he has taught youth non-violent techniques to fight for human rights and social justice.  Mike has been teaching English and Principles of Daily Living for the past 10 years to youth who are incarcerated at the MN Correctional Facility, Red Wing (the “training school”).  Previously he worked with adults with disabilities in residential, community and vocational settings.

Michael and Cecelia  are the parents of five children and live in Cannon Falls.

“Sandy admits that she’s not an expert in everything that we care about:

juvenile justice policy, for example. But she listens and learns.

What we appreciate most is that we know where she stands on important issues. We know we will not always agree with her on everything – that’s

not a realistic expectation of anyone. But, we trust her to make good decisions and have real solutions to the problems that are important to us.”

Sean Bibus

Red Wing Volunteer Coordinator

“I support Sandy because she’s one of the few politicians we can trust to look out for her constituents. In my years knowing and working with Sandy, I have developed a strong respect for her and her ability to bring people together. Sandy Wollschlager is a real leader for real times.”

Sean Bibus, Red Wing

Marilyn Tkachuk

Data Base Coordinator

Sandy has my support because I trust she will make the right choices for our community whether they are popular or not.
She listens to her constituents yet weighs all the information, using her good judgment to find effective solutions for the complex problems we face.
